Axtec Onboard Axle Load Indicators

Axtec Onboard Axle Load Indicators – Stay Compliant, Drive Confident

Managing axle weights is more than just good practice—it’s a legal requirement. At TWS Australia, we supply and install Axtec Onboard Axle Load Indicators, giving transport operators real-time visibility into axle and gross weights to ensure safe loading, legal compliance, and reduced risk under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR).

Whether you’re running light vans, rigid trucks, or waste collection vehicles, Axtec’s technology helps prevent overloads, improve safety, and protect your business.

Real-Time Axle Load Monitoring for Fleet Compliance

The Axtec Onboard Axle Load Indicator provides continuous, real-time data on axle and gross vehicle weights. It’s a simple, reliable system designed for everyday use—no driver input, no training, and no room for user error.

Key Benefits of Axtec’s Onboard Load Indicator

With Axtec, operators can load with confidence, reduce vehicle wear, and avoid penalties before a wheel even turns.

How the Axtec System Works

Mounted in the cab, the Axtec display shows a live, colour-coded bar graph representing axle group weights and gross load. The system draws data from sensors installed on the suspension, delivering constant feedback without the need for driver action or calibration during use.

Industry-Leading Accuracy & Reliability

Axtec has been a global leader in onboard axle load monitoring since 1991. Their systems are built tough, calibrated for precision, and trusted across industries including waste, logistics, agriculture, and distribution.

Installed, Calibrated & Supported by TWS

We don’t just supply the system—we install it, set it up for your specific vehicle configuration, and offer ongoing service and support. Our field technicians are available across Australia, ensuring fast response and reliable system performance.

LCV Users’ Guide

This manual is intended to provide guidance for users of the Axtec OnBoard Axle Load Indicator. This innovative system is designed to help protect operators and drivers of commercial vehicles from axle and gross vehicle overloads. It is suitable for use with all 2-axle rigids, and 3- and 4-axle rigid vehicles with any type of suspension on the steering axle, and rubber or air rear suspension.

Axtec OnBoard does not require any input from the driver, nor any formal training. Best results are obtained when the vehicle is standing on level ground, preferably after gently moving a few metres after loading. This allows the suspension system to shake out any inertia following the loading/unloading process. Very good results are also obtained when rolling along a level road at a constant slow speed.

Keep Your Fleet Compliant with Axtec Onboard Load Indicators

Overloaded axles can mean heavy fines, mechanical wear, and serious safety risks. The Axtec Onboard Axle Load Indicator puts control back in your hands—without adding complexity for your drivers.
